The young girl opened the heavy doors to the mall. It was one of her only days off and she had decided to check out someplaces around town. So far, this was her first stop. It was a cooler day and Sky was happy to be dressed in her usual jeans and light jacket. Her usualy wavy dark brown hair was straightened and her bangs where side-swept cut. She rolled her eyes as she glanced again up at the sky before entering the busy building. It looked as if it were going to snow. She hoped it didn't,she was getting tired of winter and all the snow was almost gone. Sky looked around at the people busling around with bags in hand or standing talking to friends. She shifted her purse to her other shoulder and walked slowly along the hallway of the mall stopping to glance at whatever caught her eye.

//.:.Scott Richards.:.\\ Browsing for a life.... ~ Scott walked into the large building and blinked at the instant wave of heat that crashed into him... Ehh, whatever. Heat didn't bother him.. neither did cold. Scott was what he liked to call emotionless. He didn't feel things the way others did, not that he was totally void of all emotion... but he was immune to the things like ' Puppy love ' and ' Bliss ' Very rarely did something come along that could really unnerve him. Finally snapping out of his reverie of stupid thoughts, the man looked at the faces of those coming out. The world was like a giant ant-hill. Each person scuttling along and doing their part in the great game of life. Life, pah. Scott had no life other than his horse... Leviathan was life enough for him.. which made most people give him their d**n pity. Girls fawned on him and tried to make him see that they were what life was really all about.. but he shrugged it off and continued trudging through the marshes of his mind. Every since he was a little boy, people had teased him for the stupidest reasons... Yes, he was overly developed... Yes, he could ride horses that people thought were impossible.. Yes he was born on Halloween. But how did that make him so different from on the other people in the world? An irritated sigh erupted from his soft lips as a kid, no older than ten, ran into him from behind and hastily apologized before sprinting to catch up with his Mother. Rolling his shoulders, Scott pulled the light jacket he was wearing a little closer than began to fight his way through the crowd of people blocking the entrances and exits to the mall. Why was he here? No clue. He had been sitting in his car, then fell into sort of a trance.. one of his moments where he could fall into the safety of his mind and sort through old memories and pick out the ones worth keeping, then 'awoke' to find himself here. There was no use in wasting gas.. the prices were skyrocketing all over and he didn't have the extra-pocket money to be spending on stupid joy-rides all over the state. He sighed again at passing a troupe of girls who pointed at him and giggled among themselves murmuring, ' You go talk to him! No you! I told you to first! Go talk to him! ' He rolled his eyes softly before continuing on.. hopefully there was something to do here other than to think.. His mind was fried from browsing through his own thoughts... Browsing for a life. ~ Word Count - 445 Status - Finished Notes - I think it turned out rather nicely.. don't you? ^-^

Sky continued her unecissary wandering of the mall. There really wasn't much enthusiasm in Sky's saunter as she fingured through some shirt's outside of a shop. Her eyes fell on a guy who wandered into the mall.If his obvious physcal attraction wasn't enough the girl's that were swooning and chirping on about him did. Sky rolled her eyes and laughed slightly at the group of girl's who dared each other to go up to him. She had never been much to do such a thing. Sky liked to play it cool and her natural personality and good looks helped in getting the guys but she didn't flaunt it around like most girls. Ignoring the obvious attention everyone was throwing at the guy Sky continued looking over the sale rack. After a moment soft brown eyes glanced back over to slip cautiously over the man.Sky felt kinda bad for him,it must be something to have all these girl's notice him. Most guys walked the mall with a few glances from girl's but this guy had presences and a confidence that surrounded a wide area around him.

//.:.Scott Richards.:.\\ Better stay away from me Jenna.... I might turn on you. ~ Strolling trough the people-packed hallway of the mall, Scott barely retained the urge to whistle the ' Hi-Ho ' song from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs . A pretty girl with deep green eyes smiled shyly at him and acted as though she wanted to say something, but once her friends realized that she had his attention, they all started to push her forward and whisper words of encouragement, which did practically the opposite... She shook her head and disappeared into a antique store with her friends. Scott almost followed her, but then rolled his eyes and forced himself to keep walking... Malls were an oasis for preppy girls and hopeful boys. Coincidentally, Scott was neither. He was probably the least anxious man, aside from the married men, in the mall to catch a girl's eye. The first woman he had ever loved had been the first person he had ever seen die... Scott shook his head roughly as tears threatened to blur his vision. Immune. The word rolled through his mind like ominous thunder clouds, striking at every thought he didn't want in his brain. After his quick cleansing, the presence of another by his side made him raise a soft eyebrow. He opened his mouth to shoo the being that had seemingly appeared out of thin air, but then snapped his jaw shut, if she wanted something. She was starting the conversation. Ever since Serena had died, he had really ceased all communication with women... they only leached your pockets for silly things like make-up and clothing.. A soft sigh was expelled and he ran a hand through his hair, then continued walking.. Let the girl follow him. He really didn't care. ~

Bored with the arrangement of clothing the young women let a sigh escape her pretty lips. She didn't even know why she had chose the mall to come to on a day off.She hated shopping unless of course it was for her horse, but even then it was a get in,grab it,and get out. She found amusment in watching these 'plastic' girl's come to the mall to get a guy and she was still in disbleif of what fun it would be to just hang around a mall all day doing nothing but drooling over boys.Pathetic. There was more to life then love! No,Sky wasn't anti-love,it was just love and passion had never crossed her path in life except for her exceptional passion and love for her horse and work. But she didn't figure that would count. These girl's here today saught out that 'fairy tale' love story. But to h*ll with that no one ever got their 'happy ending' or 'forever' and SKy was not going to chase a dream she couldn't catch. As Sky stepped out into the hallway, the boy caught her eye again. Her long legs carried her a few feet behind him,she wasn't following him,he just happened to be heading the same way she was wandering. She shoved her hands in her jacket pockets as she tilted her head and thought mindlessly about nothing. Sky chuckled as another group of girl's flaunted themselves for the guy. They all seemed like a bunch of mares in a herd trying to get the stallions attentions. Fighting amongst each other only to send pretty, fake smiles in hopes to bring his eyes to rest on her. Sky waited for the guy to stop and casually walked by him, looking over the merchandise stopping a few feet from him. "Doesn't that get old?" She spoke, her thorough amusement of the situation dripping from her sweet voice.Sky tilted her head towards him so she could eye him up. Her brown eyes easily glided over him but not in an intrusive way and her usual smile danced apon her lips and lit her delicate features.

//.:.Scott Richards.:.\\ My only dreams are my realities. ~ Rolling his eyes irritably as a girl probably three years younger than himself walked up to him and gave him a radiant smile, then started to talk. Scott pretended not to listen and ducked into a book store. Instantly the drawl of the mall's passageway ceased and he let out a soft sigh of relief. The teen meandered over to a small rack of books and began browsing through them idly... then after a few minutes the silence of the bookstore began to suffocate him, rolling his shoulders, Scott strolled out of the shop, delicately evading another group of hopeful looking girls and one very disgruntled boy who was clinging to the arm of the " lead girl " trying to get her to kiss him in front of her friends. " Doesn't that get old? "
[/s] If the voice of the girl startled him, he didn't visibly show it, but he turned to look at her with softly raised eyebrows and asked, " What? Them? Very. " Then turned again softly and put his hands into his pockets, allowing his palms to sink as far into the pockets as they could go before starting to walk slowly again. The girl following him irritated him ever so slightly, but at least she wasn't surrounded by her friends and giggling like a drunk. That certainly made things easier to deal with. Feet ceased movement as he stooped by a bay window to inspect the poor puppies and kittens all crammed together in under-sized cages, clawing at the glass as if begging to be adopted. A look of soft pity and concern crossed his face for a moment, then was instantly wiped away and replaced by the same ' cool calm ' it usually held. " That's disgusting. " He said, more to himself than anyone else. His two words earned him more giggles from the group of girls lagging behind him... Great. He had deemed himself an animal lover. Rolling his eyes softly, Scott continued to maneuver through the crowds until he heard the girls following him murmur, ' Oh, wouldn't you love to sleep with him? Aww, that's my dream! ' Choking back a gag, the teenager started walking again. Mental Note - Never come back to the mall without a disguise. ~ Words - 389 Status - Finished Notes - Icky again.

Sky laughed with amusement as the boy said a few words and continued on his way. She didn't know why but seeing how much attraction and chaos this guy was making by just walking down the mall entertained her and she found it quite funny. Brushing her bangs from her eyes, Sky continued on her own way. She walked past the guy standing at the window but ignored him,not even sending him a glance. She had no time to flirt and coo over a guy and even if she did,it was not her style. No,Sky relied on confidence and personality and unlike most girl's now a days, she didn't need a man to feel complete. If she couldn't accomplish it herself and independetly, what was a guy going to do to make it better? Nothing, thats what. As she passed him she heard his comment about the animals. He was right. It was disgusting and sad to see those poor creatures. If Sky could she'd save every animal on earth,it was juts her nature and it pain strictined her to see any animal mistreated or undercarred for and thats how she ended up with her collie,Cinch. Sky brushed the animals from her mind and continued to stroll down the hall way. She stopped short at a tackshop and walked in. She looked over a few of the marvelous tack, finguring over a headstall with basketweave stitching and handcrafted designs. She didn't need anything imparticular but this beat sitting at home in her apartment watching tv.

//.:.Scott Richards.:.\\ Should I stay or should I go? ~ The teenager sighed softly then stopped at another window holding puppies and kittens, then smiled softly as a pudgy white puppy came up and scratched at the glass, whining at him softly. Scott frowned as he looked over and saw the group of girls waiting patiently for him to move again, then stood slowly, casting a final smile back in the direction of the white puppy. Pushing a hand into his pocket, he pulled out his wallet... ' $125.... I have a horse... but look at her! She's so cute! ' Scott looked back at the little white puppy with a soft smile before turning around and strolling into the pet shop. The clerk smiled softly and asked him what he was here for, " I'd like the little puppy in the window, please. " He added softly before walking over with the clerk to pinpoint the dog he had been talking about. Ten minutes and $113.18 later found Scott walking out of the shop with the little puppy on a magenta camouflage leash wearing a collar with his name, address and number on it as well as her's... Shiva. Then teenager carried a small paper in his pocket, a permit to have the dog in the mall... he showed it an official who tried to stop him with almost a smug grin on his face. Then as the girl from before ducked into a tack shop, Scott raised an eyebrow and trotted after her, smiling softly as she stopped to admire a few pieces of gaudy artwork. " They're nice looking, but a little flashy for my taste... " He murmured softly, reaching out to touch the tack before shrugging and reaching down to pick the puppy up. ~ Word Count - 296 Status - Finished Notes - ::sigh::

Gently setting the bridle down,Sky turned to look at the blankets that were displayed by the door. Conquest, her Quarter Horse stallion, was due for a new one since the four year old liver chestnut loved to shred blankets. Sky swore he did it for entertainment. A tiny smile formed on Sky's lips as she thought about her horse. He was truly her pride and joy and he was probably the only stable thing in her life and she thanked higher powers everyday for that. Sky went through the rack of blankets, feeling eachs fabric and thoroughly looking over each one. Quest, for sure, would need a heavy duty,as close to rip resistant as they came. She chuckled to herself and she finally found one that was up to her standards and hopefully his. Sky caught the guy out of the corner of her eye a smile briefly touched her lips as he spoke and she looked over at him. Sky's eyes immediatly fell on the puppy. It was adorable, not the sort of dog you'd see a guy wandering around with but none the less Sky assumed it would have a good home. Her brown eyes dragged from the puppy back to the guy's face,a quick smile again lit her face before she parted her lips to speak in reply to the man's comment about the tack. Sky liked stuff that stood out but not drastically, you could say it was from all the years she spent and still did on the Quarter Horse curcuit where you needed that right type of standing out. "I guess it is a little over the top,"She let a soft chuckle excape her lips before she turned back to finding Quest's size in the blanket she liked.

//.:.Scott Richards.:.\\ Sticks and stones may break my bones, but I'll never let them touch me. ~ Nodding softly, the teenager laughed quietly as Shiva attacked his face with kisses, then looked as if she wanted to climb onto his shoulder. Setting the puppy back on the ground, Scott smiled fondly as she instantly began attacking the laces of his trainers. " She was alot more than she should've been... but it's so cruel how malls and stores cram them together in small cages like that. " He curled his lip in soft disgust before bending down to tie his shoes... Maybe I should've worn a pair of velcro shoes? No... those are for little girls and boys. His mind murmured softly... Velcro amused him, it made the most fantastic noise, but was irritatingly hideous on shoes and such, unless they were being worn by a little kid... say 6 or 7. then looked back over at the girl... She was pretty, and had a horse obivously... Shutup! He yelled at himself angrily before rolling his shoulders and looking down at the dog.. petting her head with another rare, fond smile then looking back at the girl... " I'm Scott. " He said with a casual grin and extending his hand to shake hers... ~ Word Count - 210 Status - Finished Notes - ...

Becoming annoyed with fact she couldn't find her horse's size amongst her chosen blanket style. Sky stopped her search when the guy spoke up about his puppy. She knodded in agreemenr,"What people think they can do." Her usual concern she had when animal cruelty was brought up showed in her brown eyes. A quick glance down at the puppy she smiled,"At least she has a better home now." Sky figured that the guy wasn't much for conversations with complete strangers and most times neither was she but when the boy introduced himself a few moment seconds later as 'Scott' she was a tad shocked. Sky turned so she was facing him and shook his extended hand. A smile that was always one of the first things everyone noticed about Sky sat on her lips lighting her features. "Sky."She let her name excape her lips casually,"Nice to meet you." Scott was a goodlooking guy,no doubt about it. He looked like he maybe had some horse knowledge about him but Sky didn't judge a book by it's cover so to speak. She had learnt judging people before you even knew them was not a great idea.Everyone had a few great points about them that most of the time couldn't be shown in the first impression or heck the second!

//.:.Scott Richards.:.\\ And as our lives change, from whatever... We will still be, friends forever. ~ Sky The name resounded throughout his mind and Scott smiled slightly. It wasn't much of a smile, truth be told, only a mere twitch of the corners of his lips... But for one who really looked, it was a brightly lit sign plastered across his forehead. The teen nodded his agreement and said, " Likewise. " Again, it wasn't much... but something in the words suggested otherwise. Scott was actually making a friend! A rare and beautiful event in itself... A gruff little bark and more tugs at his shoes alerted him that Shiva had again been amusing herself by untying his trainers. " Alright you little pipsqueak. " He said with a playful and kind smile, " Come up here. " Scott swooped down and picked up the little white dog, cradling her in his arms as she adjusted to her new height. " Excuse me if I'm wrong, but are you the Sky that works down at Correlli? " The boy asked, trying to keep Shiva from tearing up the brightly colored saddle pads that hung on a rack to his left. He knew that he would look like an idiot if he was wrong, but she probably wouldn't be in a tack store if she didn't own a horse... And he didn't know of any other horse-people named Sky. Something about Sky made him feel as though even though he was born on Halloween... Even though he was advanced to the point of unnatural... She would be a good friend... Hell, she would probably be a good friend if he only had one arm and seven legs. Scott had never been particularly friendly to girls, but that was probably because all of his life, all the girls he knew tried to corner him into kissing them... among other things. The thought made the Teen shudder... Too many young girls had been willing to through their virginity at them... Scott was a virgin... and d**n proud of it too. It seemed like that was all boys cared about now-a-days.... Anyway... Scott needed a true friend... Looking back at Sky, his eyes clearly said, ' Let's be friends forever. Relizing she was on the verge of staring at the cute white puppy Sky looked back over at the blankets with a soft sigh. It seemed like recently where she went she couldn't find anything for Quest. The puppy playing with the boy's shoe-laces stole Sky's attention once again. She couldn't help it that she loved animals, especially if they had amazing personalities and cute 'quirks'. When Scott picked the puppy up Sky looked into the boy's face as she extending a hand out to pet the pup's soft, fluffy fur. "May I?" She asked, feeling it wasn't right just to go ahead and pet the pup. As she waited for the boy to speak she couldn't help but notice that he had soft, kind eyes. When Scott answered her and then spoke up with the question about C.A. Sky smiled and knodded. She still was having some problems coming to grip with the fact that Correlli Acres was starting to become known around these parts. It was her biggest dream, along with making it big with her horses! "I sure am."She chuckled softly replying to his question.
