The sun was becoming visible over the hill that stood patched with snow to the east of Correlli Acres as Sky and Quest made there way along the path towards the outdoor arena. It was early and a chilly breeze floated through the trees sending a shiver down Sky's back as she checked Conquest's cinch for the last time. The girl heaved a chilly sigh, her warm breath hitting the frosty air allowing her to see her own breath as she put her left foot in the stirrup and easily swung onto the liver chestnuts 16.2hand high back. She settled into the saddle, collecting her reins before asking the stallion to back up before she then aided him to walk forward along the rail.
Sky was expecting an insanley busy day and understanding that Quest may miss a work out if she didn't sacrafise a few hours of sleep to head to the barns before they were busy with people busling around like ant workers.
Even though she had put two sweaters under her heavy winter jacket,Sky shivered. At this moment,Sky regretted that the cozy, heated, indoor arena was being used by the head trainers to breeze the Thoroughbreds because the weather was to cold to use the track and they didn't want to risk wrecking the horse's lunges.
Sky took that into consideration only walking Quest and working on lateral and suppleness. It was easy and wouldn't get the horse hot but still be effective enough to make some progress. Quest and SKy's first show was in four weeks and Sky was nervous. It was the first big show of the season and even though everyday the horse and rider team were progressing,it just didn't feel like enough. Sky looked around as she asked Quest to move in a circle, bending his neck low and collected before asking him to walk in a gentle reversed ark. People were starting to pull into the farm and Sky smiled. Soon everyone would be back into the swing of things doing chores, lessons, and everything else. She wouldn't deny it,she wouldn't have it any other way!
